Mama Lee's Old Fashoned Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 ½ cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
¼ cup milk
➔Cream butter; gradually add sugar and cream until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
Chill thoroughly. Roll dough thin; sprinkle with sugar. Cut with any desired shape cookie
cutter. Place on buttered cookie sheet; bake (350F) 15 minutes. Dough may be made into a roll,
chilled, sliced thin and baked. Yeild 60 cookies.
